    FAQs

Honestly, it’s a great question! Plus is potentially the most expensive Men’s anti-hair loss shampoo ever made, but it's for a very good reason. Similarly priced luxury hair care brands include costly ingredients like truffle oil, 24k gold, exotic roses, caviar and even powdered pearls, which is fancy, probably smells great, and might even be edible? But in all honesty, probably won’t do much for your hair.

The Plus range has 20 active ingredients, and the main four - Capixyl™, Redensyl™, Procapil™ and Baicapil™ are clinically proven, patented anti-hair loss formulas, rigorously tested on hair follicle stem cells and sourced from the best pharmaceutical laboratories around the world.

When we produce new products, we always strive for the latest and greatest technologies, ingredients, and formulas - but these don’t always make good business sense. Some ingredients are simply too expensive, too rare and too costly to import for us to actually use, and the price to produce them would make the RRP huge.

But this time, against our chemist and our accountants advice, we thought f*ck it. Let’s do it. We’ve made the best shampoo and conditioner on the planet, with not a single solitary shit spared for its commercial viability. Our passion is innovation, and Plus is our most impressive passion project yet.

If you didn’t want to spend $95 on a shampoo or a conditioner we wouldn’t blame you, but if you want to see where haircare will be in ten years from now, this is it. The future can quite literally be in your hands.

SH1 is still the best (reasonably priced) anti-hair loss shampoo on the market. Plus is what you get when you put SH1 on steroids!

They share the same clinically trialed ingredient, Capixyl™, and the same plant-based 5a Reductase inhibitor, Epigallocatechin Gallate extract, but SH1 has 10 additional actives, whereas Plus has 18.

SH1 is best suited to normal to thinning hair with the aim of preventing and treating mild to advanced hair loss, and Plus is best for normal to thinning hair with the aim of preventing and treating moderate to advanced hair loss.

With Plus you are getting the most anti-hair loss ingredients and growth promoting actives we could physically fit into one bottle, in the most optimal concentrations we could formulate.

    SH+ FAQ

    Sure do!

Procapil | The results of the 4-month clinical trial, covering one cycle of the telogen phase, showed a significant increase in the anagen/telogen ratio comparable to oral Finastéride® treatment in the PROCAPIL™-treated group.

Containing three extremely effective plant-derived substances: oleanolic acid, which inhibits 5α1 and 5α2 reductase enzymes (extracted from olive leaves); apigenin for the vasodilation (a flavonoid that is extracted from citrus peel); and glycine-histidine-lysine peptides, which are required for pro-matrix metalloproteinase activity to be able to meet the metabolic needs of hair follicles [16].

Redensyl | In a randomized, single-blinded, vehicle-controlled study of a topical active blend in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia Redensyl 7.7% had great improvement, 73.1% had moderate improvement, and 19.2% remained stable. The median self-assessment score increased from 4 at baseline to 6 at 24 weeks (P < .001), while the DLQI improved from 4 to 3, respectively (P < .001). The median anagen-to-telogen ratio increased from 2.25 to 4.00 to 6.02 at weeks 0, 12, and 24, respectively. No significant adverse events were reported. This new topical active blend is effective in the treatment of AGA, with high degree of patients' satisfaction, improvement of quality of life, and an excellent safety profile. Thus, it may represent a useful alternative therapeutic approach for AGA.

Redensyl is a mix of four active ingredients: Dihydroquercetin-glucoside (DHQG), Epigallocatechin gallate glucoside (EGCG2), glycine and zinc. Glycine is essential for the hair shaft structure as it enters directly in the composition of Keratin associated protein [11]. Research Citations: https://ayeletgayer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/RCP-Clinical-work.pdf

Capixyl | Capixyl is a biomimetic peptide complex that is mixed with red clover extract. It has been demonstrated to cause an increase in hair width and density [18]. Biochanin A is the major isoflavone in red clover. Biochanin A is known to be an effective inhibitor of 5αreductase type I & II activity [36].Research Citations: https://ayeletgayer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/RCP-Clinical-work.pdf

Baicalan | Baicalin is a traditional Chinese herbal medicine commonly used for hair loss, the precise molecular mechanism of which is unknown. In the present study, the mechanism of baicalin was investigated via the topical application of baicalin to reconstituted hair follicles on mice dorsa and evaluating the effect on canonical Wnt/β-catenin signaling in the hair follicles and the activity of dermal papilla cells.Research Citations: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5810219/

Biotinyl-GHK | Biotinyl-GHK (vitamin-carrying peptide) is formed from biotin (vitamin H). The deficiency of this vitamin leads to thin hair, alopecia, loose skin, and dermatitis [17].Research Citations: https://ayeletgayer.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/RCP-Clinical-work.pdf

Amino Acids | Amino Acids HK‐Cu increases cell adhesion and integrity of the dermal‐epidermal junction, 23 providing mechanical tension on the fibroblasts, which is known to enhance production of collagen, ECM proteins and proteoglycans. 24 The mechanism of GHK‐Cu is unclear, because at times it appears to be merely a vehicle for copper transport, whereas it can also be argued that it is a signaling molecule in its own right. 25
Despite being a promoter of wound healing and collagen synthesis, GHK‐Cu suppresses the expression of TGF‐β1, 26 which is overexpressed in balding scalps. This is probably the mechanism of hair shaft thickening and hair growth support observed from subcutaneously delivered GHK‐Cu. A similar tripeptide, AHK‐Cu, also yielded the same outcome in vitro, that includes reduced expression of TGF‐β1 and increased hair shaft elongation, increased expression of vascular endothelial growth factor and reduced negative growth factors. Biochanin A, Acetyl tetrapeptide-3 | The non-significant difference in clinical efficacy and safety to 3% minoxidil solution suggests that the herbal extract combination evaluated here could potentially be an alternative treatment for AGA. Research Citations: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7840088/
Biochanin A | Blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT preventing the shortening of the hair cycle and hair follicle miniaturization.Research Citations:https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23449130

Acetyl Tetrapeptide-3 | Improves ECM protein integrity in dermal papilla for better hair anchoring. The efficacy studies seem to indicate the hair follicles are longer and thicker with treatment. It reduces damages caused by inflammation. It shows an increase in the anagen stage of hair growth, and a decrease in the telogen phase.Research Citations: http://www.redenhair.com/img/cms/CAPIXYL-Techfile.pdf
