WHAT DOES A GUY FROM BONDI KNOW ABOUT MEN'S GROOMING?
This story starts 12 years ago in Bondi, Australia, when I decided to disrupt the market and develop a range of high-performing men’s hair products where every single ingredient has a benefit, backed by science.
I owned and ran an award-winning men’s hair salon for 8 years and I could see men’s hair products could be better. I care about what I put on my hair and scalp and traditional hair products weren't giving me what I needed, so I re-engineered them from the ground up. With an uncompromising commitment to scientific innovation and quality, I spent 8 years learning from biotechnology, polyphenol technology and marine science and recruited the best chemists and labs in the world.
Sometimes an industry needs an outsider to set a new standard. I’m an Entrepreneur, car enthusiast, admirer of good design and good hair. I like pushing boundaries and I think I was a pain in the arse for a lot of companies with my constant tweaks and need for perfection, but I believed in my vision and didn’t want to settle.
The result; maximum performance formulations, no harmful chemicals, packed with essential hair and scalp nutrients for optimal hair and scalp health.
But I couldn’t just stop there and in 2015, in conjunction with one of the world’s best formulations companies based in New York, we kicked off the development of our anti-aging skincare range. We set out to redefine the men’s skincare category, producing what we believe as some of the most potent products on the market, packing pharmaceutical grade actives clinically proven to improve the health and appearance of your skin, while utilising the best delivery systems available.
12 years on, 5 years in market and with over 50 luxury retailers globally, we’re continuing to develop new products to challenge the stat-quo of grooming and create hair and skincare products worthy of the tag, Luxury.
How do we do that? No B.S, just science. That’s the Patricks promise.
RAISING HELL AND CAPITAL
Like all start-ups, I needed capital but I didn’t have the funds to pay a Corporate Advisor. So at 33 I went back to school, studied Corporate Finance and raised the money myself. I wore my lucky pair of Givenchy High Tops and Yeezy track pants to my first investor meeting and signed the guy up on the spot.
It’s not that I don’t take business seriously or that I am disrespectful, I just try to stay genuine and true to who I am; putting on a suit just isn’t me. We managed to over-subscribe our capital raise in 3 days which enabled us to create a range of high-performance super products with no compromises.
It wasn’t easy. It took many years, prototypes and redesigns, 2 failed manufacturing attempts, blown deadlines, surviving corporate sabotage and a whole lot of hustle. We’ve now grown from a small start-up to a multi-national business with award-winning products stocked by some of the world’s best stores.
Our skin and haircare formulations are made from the highest quality, raw, pharmaceutical grade ingredients and were engineered by a team of world-renowned chemists in New York and Miami, respectively. No holds barred, I gave the formulations companies an open budget to produce the best performing products possible – beyond anything that had been engineered before.
In addition to the superior performance, I wanted to pack in extra benefits, developing Patricks Recovery Compound that addresses hair loss, hair growth and scalp health and Delta Complex, an anti-aging formula consisting of pharmaceutical grade actives clinically proven to improve skin health and appearance.
